997 AMERICANS RETURN FROM NIGERIA

In addition to the 147 U.S citizens who left Nigeria on the 4th of April, 997 Americans have been in the country since the pandemic outbreak, on Thursday through the U.S Mission have returned back to their country.

This was in relation to the US Consulate intention, who organised three chartered flights operated by Delta Air Lines and Ethopian Airlines to repatriate 850 Americans from the Murtala Muhammed Internal Airport in Lagos.  The U.S diplomatic mission mentioned that ”these repatriation flight were made possible by a tremendous effort by the U.S Consulate team and great cooperation from Nigerian partners, including the Ministry of Aviation, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Lagos state Government”

The United States Consul General Claire Pierangelo stated that 50 people were really working to ensure saf passage to all Americans travelling to the airport since the city is on lockdown.  ”It was an enormous effort and i am incredibly proud of my team. We appreciate all the help from our Nigerian partner. We would’t have done this without you.
