Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, on Thursday, apologized for the blackout experienced by numerous Nigerians across the country.

As indicated by him, the issue was brought about by the breakdown of some National Integrated Power Plants providing power to the public framework.

Mamman, who expressed this in a series of tweets by means of his confirmed Twitter handle, nonetheless, guaranteed Nigerians that the issue would be fixed and power would before long be restored.

He expressed, “I earnestly regret the new Power blackouts across the country and the troubles it has carried with it, and wish to assure my Fellow Nigerians that everybody involved is working indefatigably to restore the National grid to its past recorded levels and surpass that.

“The issue is brought about by the breakdown of some National Integrated Power Plants supplying electricity to the national grid. The plants are specifically, Sapele, Afam, Olonrunsogo, Omotosho, Ibom, Egbin, Alaoji, and Ihovbor. The Jebba Power Plant was closed down for yearly maintenance.

“Seven other coordinated Power plants, specifically Geregu, Sepele, Omotosho, Gbarain, Omuku, Paras, and Alaoji are experiencing gas constraints while the Shiroro hydroelectric power plant has water management issues.”
