#BREAKING THE BIAS: Access Bank celebrates everyday women for IWD

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, leading financial service provider, Union Bank of Nigeria, hosted an event to celebrate women who are breaking biases and shattering barriers in their professional and personal lives.

To reaffirm our commitment of inspiring, connecting, and empowering women to attain their full potential, Access Bank on March 10th hosted a conference in commemoration of the annual International Women’s Day 2022. This conference  aimed at furthering the discussions around how women across all life stages can thrive through stereotypes to attain full potentials. Panel discussants w also lend their voice to leveraging gender-enabling systems for women’s economic empowerment and how we can tear down stereotypes to empower women as high achievers in the society.

As an organisation committed to leading the charge for inclusion and parity,  Access Bank has consistently leveraged International Women’s Day to promote impactful discourse and encourage positive action for gender equality.

In line with the global theme: #BreakTheBias, this year’s event was tagged  Unbroken to break, Thinkw

The event kicked off with a Goodwill message from the Director General World Trade Organization , Dr. Ngozi Okojo-Iweala.

This was followed by a panel session moderated by  the Anchor at CNBC Africa , Wole Famurewa

The panelists included  Elohor Alboni MD SNEPCo, Dr. Jumoke Special Adviser to the President of Nigeria on Ease of Doing Business , Folake Akinkugbe Filani ,Chief commercial officer ,Mixta Africa , Damilola Olokusesi Co-founder ,CEO Shuttlers, Tosin Olaseinde Co-founder ,Money Africa , Ife Agoro, Blogger, Entrepreneur .Creator Dairy of a Naija Girl.

The discussion was centered on ; Building gender-enabling system to foster women economic development  and also tearing down stereotypes and empowering women as high achievers in the society.

Although there is still work to be done to drive inclusivity and foster progressive mindsets, we hope the discussions held at the event encourage everyone to do their part to break the bias.”
