United Nigeria Airlines attributed the diversion of its Abuja-bound flight to Asaba to “poor weather” conditions.
The incident occurred on Flight NUA 0504 departing from Lagos on Sunday.
Upon landing in Asaba, the cabin crew mistakenly informed passengers that they had reached Abuja, causing confusion.
The airline, through its spokesperson Achilleus-Chud Uchegbu, acknowledged the crew’s error, clarifying that the pilots had temporarily diverted the flight due to adverse weather conditions at the intended destination.
The statement assured that the aircraft later landed safely in Abuja after improvements in the weather.
