Big Shock As Sergio Ramos Left Out Of Spain Squad For Euro 2020

Spain coach Luis Enrique on Monday left veteran defender Sergio Ramos out of his Euro 2020 squad but called up centre-back Aymeric Laporte, who recently switched his football nationality.

This is the first time the defender has not been in the squad since Euro 2004.

National team coach Luis Enrique announced his group for the tournament, which was postponed last summer and will begin next month, on Monday morning.

Ramos, the 35-year-old Real Madrid captain, “has not been able to compete this season, especially since January,” Luis Enrique said.

The 35-year-old won the last of his 180 caps in March, but his season at Real Madrid has been blighted by injury and he has played just seven times for the La Liga club this calendar year.
Spain boss Luis Enrique revealed his Spain squad player by player in a press conference on Monday with Aymeric Laporte getting called up after he switched allegiances from France to Spain earlier this month.
