The  Board of Nursing and  Midwifery Council of Nigeria at an emergency meeting held in Feb. 2022 , approved that Public health programmes be accredited and included in departments of Nursing Science and Colleges of Nursing Science in Nigeria.

The Board chairman Dr. (Mrs)  Bola Abosede Ofi, speaking at the meeting addressed the notice to all Proprietors and Heads of Department .

Speaking at the meeting she said, “The Proprietors and Heads of Nursling training institutions are to note that henceforth accreditation of departments of nursing sciences and colleges of nursing sciences will be done alongside basic general Nursing ,midwifery and public health for universities and colleges wishing to run this programmes.”
