A group of unidentified armed individuals attacked the Adamawa State Police Headquarters in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, causing panic among Yola residents.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the attack was repelled, but the identities of the assailants remain unknown.

There are speculations that the attackers might be military personnel seeking revenge for the alleged killing of one of their own by the police. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the attack and identify those responsible.

In a separate incident, a confrontation occurred last Friday between officials of the EFCC and Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel at the Kaduna Zonal Command of the anti-graft agency.

The NAF officers reportedly attempted to free their colleagues arrested by EFCC operatives for allegedly trying to release fraud suspects from custody forcibly.

The EFCC had apprehended five suspects involved in internet-related fraud activities.

After the sting operation, six military personnel, including four Air Force personnel and two students of the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology, attempted to forcibly release the arrested fraud suspects but were subdued and detained by the EFCC for the security breach.
