Former Secretary General of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Frank Kokori, passed away on his 80th birthday anniversary.

He had been hospitalized for kidney-related issues for the past month and died around 1:30 am on Thursday at a private hospital in Warri.

Veteran Labour Leader, Frank Kokori Kokori’s personal assistant, Atawada Barry Oke said Kokori’s health deteriorated on Monday, preventing him from interacting with those around him, and he was placed on life support.

On November 9, 2023, he had made a distress call, expressing feelings of abandonment despite his significant contributions to the country’s democratic growth.

Dignitaries, including Delta State Governor Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and former Deputy President of the Senate Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, had visited him and offered assistance.
