President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Mr. Chukwuemeka Chukwuka as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Commissioner representing Abia State.

Buhari backed the choice of the Abia nominee with relevant laws, in an executive communication which was read by the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan on Tuesday at the plenary.

Part of the letter reads: “I am delighted to forward the name of Mr. Chukwuemeka Chukwuka as INEC Commissioner nominee representing Anambra State.

“This is in consonance with section 14(3) of the 1999 constitution as amended.”
