Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw was present at the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court on Tuesday to witness the verdict in the case of Doctor Olufemi Olaleye, the medical director of the Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, who was accused of sexually abusing his wife’s niece.
Olaleye faced charges of defilement and sexual assault by penetration of his wife’s niece, as filed by the Lagos State Government. He pleaded not guilty to these charges when arraigned on November 30, 2022.
The alleged incident occurred at No 17, Layi Ogunbambi Close, Maryland, Lagos State, where Olaleye was accused of engaging in sexual activity with his wife’s 15-year-old niece and sexually assaulting the teenager by penetrating her mouth with his manhood.
Justice Oshodi granted Olaleye bail in the amount of N50 million with two sureties who must also possess property in Lagos State and show evidence of tax payments to the Lagos State Government for the last three years.
Additionally, Olaleye was required to surrender his international passport, including his British passport, and the original documents of his landed property to the court’s registrar.
Following the trial, the court scheduled the judgment for today, October 24, 2023.
