FG TO PROSECUTE ANYONE FOUND WITHOUT A FACEMASK OR COVERING IN PUBLIC

The Nigeria Federal Government on Friday announced to that any citizens who moves about without a facemask will be prosecuted.

This information was disclosed on Friday in a five -page document from the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 which was signed by the Chairman of the Force, Boss Gidahyelda Mustapha as part of the guidelines to be followed during the gradual easing of the lockdown.

The statement noted that “Anyone who presents a temperature of above 38ºC will be mandated to return home and call NCDC for evaluation. Anyone without a face mask or covering will be asked to return home and will be prosecuted.

“Anyone violating the curfew in a non-emergency situation will be prosecuted. Anyone attending a gathering of more than 20 people will be prosecuted. Any member of the public who violates the ban on Inter-State movement as outlined in this guideline will be prosecuted.”

More so, the PTF pleaded with Nigerians who do not have any important reason to move around, to stay home as the COVID-19 disease has not been total defeated.
