Frank Lampard is set to be sacked by Chelsea less than 24 hours after the club’s FA Cup victory over Luton Town.
According to the Telegraph of the UK, confirmation could come as soon as today after Chelsea players were told not to report to the training ground until this afternoon.
Chelsea have been a run of a string of poor results lately, and only last week the club had its hope of a renaissance dashed after losing 2-0 at the King Power stadium. Teeming supporters equally did not fail to express their displeasure after the team failed to convince, barely managing to get past a much less illustrious opponent in Luton Town
However, In all of this, the coach believes he still possesses what it takes to weather the storm when he recently took to Twitter to express strong optimism. The 42-year-old has pledged to graft his – and Chelsea’s – way out of trouble.
His words: “I’m a fighter first and foremost, it’s how I managed to make a career out of the game as a player,” said Lampard.
“So when I packed up I could have easily stayed in the media or left football completely, I didn’t need to come back in.
“I got in with a desire to be successful, and I didn’t have the blinkers on, I knew there would be tough times, there would be things you can’t control like you did as a player.
“I love the job, and I love the fact that if there are tough times you can fight your way out of it.”
