Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved payment of local government pensioners across the 17 local government councils of the state.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed, and made available to newsmen in Damaturu.
According to the statement, the Governor approved the sum of N667,045,441.22 for payment to the 475 local government Pensioners in the 17 LGAs of the state.
The approval is coming shortly after the screening and verification of the Pensioners in all of the LGAs. The development is in continuation of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s efforts to settle outstanding pensions owed to retired local government employees.
