The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, on Friday, received his certificate of return in Owerri, the state capital, following last Saturday’s governorship election.
In his address, the governor commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for overseeing what he described as the fairest, freest, and most peaceful election in the history of Imo State.

Governor Uzodimma, aged 64, secured victory in all 27 LGAs of the state, surpassing competitors including Samuel Anyanwu of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Nneji Achonu of the Labour Party, and Jack Ogunewe of the Action Alliance, along with 14 other opponents.
