Vice President Kashim Shettima chaired the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting today in Abuja.

Governors from all around the nation are present at the conference, which is taking place at the Council of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

It is expected that the meeting will focus on some of the crucial economic problems that the country is currently experiencing as a result of the removal of the petrol subsidies.

Security issues facing the entire nation, including recent attacks in some parts of the North, are also expected to be covered.

About 24 hours after the NEC meeting, The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited announced that it has secured a $3 billion Emergency Crude Repayment Loan from the African Export-Import Bank (AFREMIX) Bank.
