Ik Osakioduwa, a media personality, and a VGC Election Volunteer has contended that the All Progressives Congress and some sect of Yoruba people seem to be unaware of the damage their actions had caused after the last week’s election in the state. If you would recall that the spokesperson of Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga stated openly after the conclusion of Lagos election that 2023 should be the last time the Igbos should participate in election in Lagos State.

Ik Osakioduwa speaking in an interview with News Central asked a rhetorical question that if the likes of Tony Elumelu and Jim Ovia who are Igbos and other Non-lagosians businessmen are sent packing out from Lagos, what would be the economic value of the state? He argued that the Lagos State Government under Babajide Sanwo-Olu has not held Mc Oluomo responsible for his words after he threatened the Igbos in an Eve to the state election. According to him, if Sanwo-Olu does not stick to the bigotry belief, MC Oluomo should have arrested him by now.

He said, ”If the posture of the APC is that non-Lagosians should leave Lagos, then they are completely endorsing bigotry, division, and oppression of the people. If you take a look at the Lagos economy and you take out the non-lagosians businesses, what is left there in Lagos? If you take out Tony Elumelu and Jim Ovia who are Igbo men from Lagos, what is left there in Lagos?

I think quite frankly, APC should have done more when MC Oluomo made that bigotry statement. They said they investigated and nothing has happened to him, we have seen no public reprimand. We have seen him lose no title, nobody has taken responsibility for his action. If Sanwo-Olu does not believe in what Oluomo said, there should be some serious disciplinary action.”
