Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) has been proclaimed the victor of the race for the Anambra South Senate seat by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The outcome was announced in Nnewi by Prof. Ebele Nwokoye, the INEC Resident Returning Officer.
According to Nwokoye, Ubah received 73, 115 votes to win, and Mr. Chris Azubogu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) finished in a distant second with 45, 369 votes.
Obinna Uzor, a candidate for the Labour Party (LP), and Chris Una, a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), both received 28, 102 and 21, 209 votes, respectively, to place third and fourth.
