A date has been set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Wednesday, March 29, 2023, has been set aside as the date for the state of Adamawa to hold a second round of voting.

On Monday, INEC pronounced the March 18 governor’s election in Adamawa state to be invalid.

In comparison to Aishatu Dahiru of the All Progressive People (APC), who received 390,275 votes, the incumbent governor of the state, Ahmed Fintiri, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), received 421,524 votes. But despite disagreements from both parties, a resolution could not be achieved.

Dahiru would become Nigeria’s first elected female governor if she were to be proclaimed the winner.
