Journalist Kidnapped by Gunmen in Adamawa State

A journalist, Usman Sahabi, has been abducted by gunmen in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.

Sahabi, who works for the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation and serves as the Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, was reportedly taken from his Wuro Chekke residence around 1 am on Friday(today) by approximately five armed assailants who forcibly entered his room. 

As of now, no ransom demand has been made, as per sources.

The Adamawa State Police Command’s spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident and stated that the police have deployed all available resources to secure the journalist’s safe release.

He emphasized that the police will persist in their efforts until Sahabi is safely rescued. SP Nguroje urged the family and the public to remain calm, assuring them that everything is being done to ensure his return.
