On Wednesday, the Oyo State High Court in Ogbomoso reversed the appointment of the new Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye.
The Oyo State Government had declared Pastor Ghandi Olaoye as the new Soun and officially installed him as king on September 8, 2023.
However, prior to this appointment, one of the contestants, Kabir Laoye, filed a lawsuit against Ghandi Olaoye, arguing that he was ineligible for the position of Soun.
The court has ruled that the Oyo State government should refrain from appointing anyone to the position until after the court’s judgment is delivered.
