JUST IN: EFCC Invites, Questions Ex-Benue Gov Samuel Ioraer Ortom

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has taken custody of Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, in Makurdi as a result of an invitation,

At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Ortom came at the anti-graft agency’s Makurdi zonal office, which is situated on Alor Gordon Street.

According to information obtained by our correspondent, the former governor was requested to provide testimony as part of an ongoing inquiry into possible financial embezzlement that occurred while he served in office.

“Former governor Ortom is currently at our Makurdi zonal office in Benue State. He arrived at about 10 a.m. this morning, and he’s still there now. He was invited over an ongoing investigation concerning alleged misappropriation of funds during his time in office,” an impeccable source said.

The spokesperson for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, didn’t respond to phone calls and text messages sent to his phone by our correspondent concerning the development.
