On Monday, Twitter, a well-known microblogging service, removed the verification tag from the account of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, a former vice president of Nigeria.
Prior to its elimination, the unique verification tag was made specifically for government employees.
As of the time of publication, our correspondent had noticed that Osinbajo’s tag was gone, but the one from the account of the late president, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, was still there.
The Punch has asked Twitter why the former vice president’s verification tag was taken off, but they have not yet responded.
Today, May 29,2023, Osinbajo and his boss, Buhari, turned over power to Bola Tinubu’s administration.
