The Lagos State Government has recently launched a dedicated COVID-19 website with the aim of educating and updating Lagosian on the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Thursday statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Technology, Mr. Olatunbosun Alake, which revealed the website https:/covid19.lagosstate.gov.ng will allow access to vital information on COVID-19, as government strategy to control the spread of the virus in the state.
The Special Adviser stated further that the website is an effective way to curtail the spread of fake news and provide members of the public with facts and figures provided by the Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on COVID-19.
“The website has detailed information with a breakdown of the local governments where the patients admitted at our Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, reside,”.
Describing the layout of the website, Alake mentioned that it will reveal latest news and information on Coronavirus; total number of cases, recoveries and fatalities in Lagos and Nigeria; details on symptoms; safety tips and statistical breakdown of cases in the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas of Lagos.
He also appealed with residents to remain cooperative and optimistic, by complying with the State’s stay at home protocol.
