MAGISTRATES’ COURT CONVICT JOGGERS FOR VIOLATING SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOL

As the lockdown continues, especially for a busy state like Lagos, is one tempted to resume their daily routine?

The Yaba Magistrates’ Court has sentenced 34 fitness enthusiast for violating the social distancing order given by the Lagos State Government on the 30th of March 2020.

They were arrested while working out at the Gbagada- Oworonsoki Expressway, Lagos.

The defendants whose names were not identified pleaded guilty as charged as they were more than the instructed number (20).

For their verdict, the court sentenced them to 4 weeks community service and 14 days quarantine at the Infection Disease Hospital Yaba or somewhere else directed by the government.
