Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has presented a budget of over N340.9 billion to the state house of assembly for the 2022 financial year.
The budget tagged ” Budget of Economic Resilience”, the Governor said is meant to complete all ongoing projects and programmes within the life span of the administration.
According to him, the budget is structured with a total recurrent expenditure of N102.8 billion which is equivalent to 30.15 per cent and capital expenditure of N238,1 billion which is 69.85 per cent of the total budget.
The Governor said the total amount projected to finance the 2022 budget is the sum of N175,105,396,188.00 which comprised of N61,664,771,966.00 as internally generated revenue from the state board of internal revenue and other MDAs.
“The revenue receivable through the Federation account is estimated at the sum of N100,940,624,222.00 with an opening balance of N12,500,000,000”, he added.
A sectoral breakdown of the budgets, he maintained also showed that the sum of N124.4 billion was allocated to the economic sector, N98.6 billion for the social sector, N13.8 billion for administration and N1.68 billion for law and justice.
Further highlights, the Governor added that the sum of N29.4 billing was allocated to the education sector, N30.6 billion health sector, N41.03 billion water resources, N26.2 billion agriculture, N27.03 billion works and N33.09 billion for the environment.
Masari, while giving the 2021 budget review said the implementation had been largely affected by the security challenges across the state, assuring the people of Katsina state that, all projects being executed would be completed before the end of the administration’s tenure.
