Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has made good on his promise to give away a million dollars to selected orphanages across the country.

This was stated by the singer in a statement released through his official Twitter account on Tuesday night.

Davido gave the update and the names of the orphanages that benefited from his gesture.

“I am pleased to announce that the disbursement is complete and a total of N250,000,000 has been disbursed to 292 orphanages so far.

“In the interest of transparency, I thought it would be wise to give my loyal supporters, fans, friends and family an update on this,” he tweeted.

Davido thanked the committee he created to update the project for a job well done, saying it is a “committee of high caliber and principled people” who dedicated their time to ensuring the job got done.

Praising his fans, family and friends, Davido said we’re up.

The Nigerian News Agency recalls that in November 2021, the singer asked his friends to give him N1 million each before his birthday.

They gave him N200 million in less than 48 hours, and Davido in turn decided to donate the money to orphanages across the country.

Davido added N50 million from his personal wallet to make it N250 million.
