Niger Assembly Deputy Speaker Resigns

Niger State House of Assembly’s Deputy Speaker, Bako Alfa, has resigned.

Alfa, a member representing Bida 1 at the House announced his resignation through a letter he submitted to the House which was read during Thursday plenary.

The Speaker, Abdullahi Wuse, who read the letter on the floor of the House, however, did not give details on why the deputy speaker resigned.

The nomination for his replacement was moved by member representing Paikoro constituency, Suleiman Gambo Aninigi and seconded by member representing Kontagora Constituency, Sale Ibrahim Alhaji.

The house has nominated Jibrin Baba representing Lavun constituency as the new deputy speaker.
