For the first time in a very long time, many Nigerian football fans have found themselves very interested in what is happening in the Italian Serie A. Not that people didn’t use to follow the league, but the presence and hot-form of Victor Osimhen as drawn a lot of attentions to the league. That, and also the fact that Jose Mourinho has returned to the league with AS Roma, bringing Tammy Abraham along to lead his attack as a trusted number 9.
This has created a lot of appeal to many Nigerian football supporters who mostly used to care about what the English Premier League and the Spanish La Liga. Now, they want to know how Osimhen is doing, how Mourinho and the former Chelsea striker, Tammy Abraham are doing as well.
So far, Victor Osimhen seems to be enjoying himself more than any other striker in the league at the moment, not to talk of Tammy Abraham. The Napoli forward is almost single-handedly leading his team’s charge for a first Italian top-flight title since 1990.
Having watched all their Seria A matches so far this season, I have noticed one very contrasting situation that Tammy Abraham and Victor Osimhen are facing in the league.
What I am trying to say is that, there’s one major difference between Osimhen’s situation in Italy and Tammy’s. The difference is a very simple and very glaring one.
While Victor Osimhen can’t seem to stop scoring goals, Tammy Abraham is struggling to even muster shots on targets, let alone score goals.
This is because, Osimhen gets a lot of support from his teammates while Tammy Abraham gets nothing from his guys.
No wonder it comes as no surprise that while Tammy Abraham has started 11 Seria A matches this season and has just 2 goals, Victor Osimhen has started just 9 Seria A matches but has an impressive return of 5 goals.
