No fewer than five young men in Rivers State have been said to have suffered electrocution while attempting to install a billboard using a metal frame.
The incident was said to have occurred in the Obiri-Ikwerre area of Rumuosi Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state on Monday.
It was gathered that four others are still battling for survival at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) where they were rushed to for treatment.
It was further gathered that the victims were artisans, who were contracted by the church to mount the billboard.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, described the incident as pathetic, saying police have opened investigation into the incident, calling for calm among residents.
