During the presidential campaign of the People’s Democratic Party candidate Atiku Abubakar in Anambra, he urged the people of the South-East to support him, saying he is the region’s surest route to the presidency. Atiku Abubakar said in his words “I am going to be a stepping stone to an Igbo president in this country”.

Reacting to the statement of the PDP candidate, Rufai Oseni, while on the Arise TV morning show, said when he gets narratives like this, is Atiku Abubakar not saying invariably that the Igbos would have to wait another turn and the question should be how long will the Igbos wait, how long will they have to wait and keep aligning with people.

Rufai Oseni went on to conclude that, probably, if 2027 comes, they would have to wait some more, but it is only fair to have a balanced country and a fair country means rotation, which means if one side has it, the other side should too.
