BENEDICT AYADE: SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOL NOT AN EFFECTIVE MEASURE TO CONTROL COVID-19 SPREAD

The Governor of Cross Rivers state, Professor Benedict Ayade has come out to say that social distancing is not enough measure to control the spread of COVID-19 virus.

He explained during an interview that scientific research have shown that nose mask if effective enough and so social distancing is not as necessary as the public believes it to be i the fight against the pandemic. According to the governor, social distancing is completely wrong as human habit is based on interaction, ”we are not electric poles, we are not trees, we are interacting by nature” he said.

Governor Ayade who had earlier giving out free nose mask to residents of the state, said ”Social distancing gives false impression of security, because i know that if you and i stand together and i sneeze, that two metres distance, the factor that govern the transitivity are things that are beyond our own control. Variables like humidity, wind, speed, wind direction”

Further stating, he noted that ” WHO said mask doesn’t work but they reversed themselves after proper research that showed that the use of nose mask reduces droplets that are up to 95%”.
