Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has provided a significant boost to over 5,000 youths from all 21 local government areas of the state. They were equipped with a total of N2 billion in start-up capital as part of the ‘one youth, two skills’ initiative.

This marks the first wave of beneficiaries who have received their financial support in Awka following their training.

Hon. Chuks Azotani, the representative for Dunukofia Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, who chairs the Information Technology and Creative Economy committee, encouraged the recipients to wisely invest their start-up capital in the skills they’ve acquired.

He praised Governor Soludo for introducing this life-changing program, designed to combat youth unemployment and restlessness while nurturing young entrepreneurs who can become self-reliant and employers.

Azotani said: “The positive effects of this programme of 1 youth, 2 skills initiated by the Soludo administration being facilitated by the State Ministry of Youth Development, will foster robust economic impacts in the areas of Information, Communication and Technology.

“I urge the trained beneficiaries of this landmark programme to effectively apply the skills and knowledge they received. I also implore the beneficiaries to judiciously invest their seed capital efficiently so as to become successful business owners and employers of labour in the state”.

The lawmaker also expressed his delight that around 100 beneficiaries in the first group of the program were from Dunukofia local government area and assured the local youth of more opportunities ahead.

He encouraged youths across Nigeria to engage in meaningful ventures, especially in the field of Information and Communication Technology, and noted that the Soludo administration has further programs aimed at fostering socio-economic development in Anambra.

Azotani called on the people of Anambra to collaborate and support the state government’s efforts in enhancing prosperity and the quality of life.
