The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in the November 6 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, Chukwuma Charles Soludo last Thursday received a popular Nigerian Artiste, Mr Innocent Idibia otherwise known as Tubaba. Mr Idibia is the Convener of “Vote Not Fight; Election No Be War” which he founded in the year 2014.

Receiving Mr Idibia, Soludo said that the musician’s message of a peaceful election resonated his deep convictions about public service.

‘I keep asking people around me, if 95% of the actual purpose of political leadership is “Service”, why fight, bribe or kill to serve?

‘This is part of the value redefinition we will be proposing to our people, many of whom now see political leadership as a ticket to free and easy money,’ he said.

Continuing, ‘This is not the expected. Political leadership is a call to responsibility, a self declaration of servanthood to the people who hold the ultimate power to either hire or fire you.

‘I have signed up to the ‘Vote not Fight’ advocacy, and will continue to reiterate that no one’s ambition is worth the blood of a chicken, much more, a human life,’ he concluded.

The meeting was part of the Afro pop artiste’s efforts towards ensuring a peaceful, free and fair election in Anambra state, come November 6.

The Chairman, APGA Committee on Peace and Reconciliation, Sen (Sir) Victor Umeh (Ohamadike Ndigbo) was around to received the multiple awards winning African Queen Crooner.
