The lucky winners of the coveted University Scholarship Award for 2022 have been announced by Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, a subsidiary of Standard Bank Group.
The N80,000,000.00 worth of scholarships awarded in 2022 would help 200 deserving Nigerian undergraduates who performed exceptionally well in the UTME (University Tertiary Matriculation Examination) and met other eligibility requirements.
Over the course of four academic years, the scholarship money will be distributed in yearly installments, giving beneficiaries the crucial financial support they need to cover their educational costs. The beneficiaries must meet specific requirements before receiving any further payments.
These requirements include continuing to enroll in the colleges and degree programs to which they have been admitted, as well as abiding by the administrative and academic rules established by their individual institutions.
By making sure that these conditions are met, the beneficiaries can keep receiving the scholarship throughout their academic career, making it easier for them to pursue higher education continuously.
The Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Holdings, Dr. Demola Sogunle, said during his introductory remarks at the virtual award ceremony, “At Stanbic IBTC, we acknowledge the value of education and its role in determining the destiny of our beautiful nation, Nigeria. Our main goal in offering this fellowship is to give academically talented, brilliant young Nigerians limitless options.
He added that the number of annual scholarship recipients was raised from 100 to 200 on the belief that everyone should have access to education rather than treating it as a luxury.
Beneficiaries were picked through a stringent and equitable selection procedure, involving representatives from each of Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The candidates underwent a thorough merit-based evaluation that also took into account their outstanding academic record.
The top end-to-end financial institution will change the lives of these extraordinary students and advance the growth and prosperity of the country as a whole by supporting their academic endeavors.
The 200 scholarship recipients will be able to pursue their dreams with financial confidence, knowing that Stanbic IBTC will stand firmly by their side.
