To Promote Peace, Tinubu Forms Committees To Meet With Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso.

In order to begin the “healing process,” Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, has established committees to meet with disgruntled presidential candidates.

This was revealed in a statement released on Wednesday by Ondo State Governor and committee member Rotimi Akeredolu’s chief press secretary, Richard Olatunde.

He claimed that an All Progressives Congress (APC) committee of elders would soon start holding meetings with the president-fellow elect’s candidates in an effort to console them for their defeat in the recently completed election.

He emphasized that every person who feels wronged will be reached for reconciliation.

“To begin the healing process, the President-elect has formed committees that will meet with the men who ran for office. One of the committees includes me.

The governor said, “We are going to meet with them and make a case for cooperation.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Tinubu the winner of the election on Wednesday with a total vote count of 8,794,726. (INEC).

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), three of the leading opposition parties in the election, have rejected the results, claiming that the electoral umpire did not follow the rules set forth in the Electoral Act 2022 regarding electronic transmission of results. The opposition has also threatened to sue to overturn the election results.

Atiku Abubakar received 6,984,520 votes, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) received 6,101,533, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP received 1,496,687.

The former governor of Lagos State extended olive branches to his rivals in his Wednesday acceptance speech. “I’d like to use this opportunity to ask my fellow competitors to allow us to form a team. Our only nation is that one.

We must work together to build this nation as one, he said.

“I thank you for your participation and commitment to our democracy, regardless of whether you identify as Batified or Atikulated, Obidients, Kwankwasiyya, or have any other political affiliation.

You made the decision to put your faith in a Nigerian’s democratic vision, one that is based on shared prosperity and is fostered by the ideals of harmony, justice, peace, and toleration, Tinubu continued.
