When the proceedings commenced, the individuals who filed the petitions, including Jandor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the March 18 election, and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party candidate, had not yet arrived in court.

However, the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, and the Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, are in attendance.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports security operatives took over the courthouse’s main entrance, screening journalists, lawyers and others before they could gain entrance.
