Two children confirmed dead, three adults injured as another building collapses in Bariga, Lagos state.

Two children has been confirmed dead and three adults injured when a building collapsed late on Sunday on Adeleye Street, Lady Lak, Bariga area of Lagos State.

The development was confirmed by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, which responded to the call.

According to the Director General of LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, in a situation report, the agency has activated all its response plans.

Oke-Osanyintolu said: “Situation report: Collapsed building at Adeleye Street Ladylak, Bariga.

“The Agency activated its response to the above incident and upon arrival at the incident scene, discovered that the tank scaffolding of a two-story building collapsed on a bungalow beside it and affected two rooms.

“Unfortunately two children died from the impact. Three adult males sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.

“The Agency’s response team alongside Lagos State Fire and LASBCA are respondents at the incident scene. Rescue operation ongoing.”
