Members of the House of Representatives from Adamawa State have donated N2.5 million to combat the effect of coronavirus on the people of the state.
The funds was handed over to the Technical Committee for Containment of COVID-19 headed by Engr Bashiru Ahmad.
In a statement by Ahmad who is also SSG said Kwamoti Laori representing Numan Lamurde and Demsa Federal Constituency, presented the money on behalf of his colleagues.
Hon. Ja’afar Magaji, representing Mubi-North, Mubi-South and Maiha federal constituency said the money is meant to tackle the possibility of the virus in the state.
Magaji who said that the virus is yet be recorded in the state, urged citizens to adhere strictly to the sit at home order issued by the state government.
“We donated N2.5 million to block all the loop holes against coronavirus into Adamawa.
“Christian and Muslim faithful should be law abiding and adhere to lockdown order during this trial period as this is high time for fervent prayers and to seek for God’s forgiveness from all faiths.”
The lawmaker further added that, the sit at home order is aimed at protecting the lives and property of people of the state.
