Buhari Advises The National Assembly Winners To Respect Voters And Make Them Feel Significant.

The Senate and House of Representatives winners chosen to represent the Daura zone, the electoral district that produced him, were welcomed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement released on Monday by the president’s spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, the president gave the newly elected legislators advice on how to respect the electorate and make them feel important.

“Respect the voters and give them a sense of importance,” he said. If you don’t, they’ll set up an ambush during the next election for you. They will either keep you in office or remove you, depending on how you handle them.

He congratulated Nasiru Sani, the senator-elect, who defeated Senator Ahmed Babba Kaita, who had switched parties to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after losing in the primary elections, with 174,062 votes.

Senator Kaita was defeated by more than 10,000 votes.

President Buhari also hailed Alhaji Aminu Jamo’s victory over his PDP rival by more than 10,000 votes as the incoming member of the House of Representatives for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai Adua Federal Constituency.

Ahmed El-Marzuq, the APC’s national legal adviser, who was speaking earlier and was followed by the elected officials, informed the President that the success of the party was largely attributable to the advancements made in the senatorial zone during the Buhari administration.

He cited a number of initiatives that, according to him, had improved local human capital development, social development, entrepreneurship, and education.

El-Marcus gave the President copies of the findings.

The results were enthusiastically received by the President.
