The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has lifted restrictions in intrastate movement as a he relaxes the lockdown he imposed on the state two weeks ago.
In a review broadcast Tuesday evening, the governor said the impressive compliance of residents to regulations of the initial lockdown necessitated the review of the restrictions order.
He ordered civil servants who had been asked to work from home due to the initial lockdown to resume work on Wednesday, but all schools remain shut till further notice.
He stressed that while movement is allowed within the state, moving in from any other state or country would remain prohibited.
He also directed commercial motorcycles (Keke Napep) which serve as taxis in major towns across the state to begin operation, however, they must not carry more than two passengers at the same time.
He appealed to residents to maintain social distancing and religious organisations to organise meetings of not more than 50 people in attendance.
