Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has threatened to carry out punishment due to violators of the movement restriction order that was given to control the spread of COVID-19 . The Executive order instructed that all land, air and water borders be shut down.

Governor Wike, along with Security Operatives on Tuesday arraigned Caverton’s Pilots question the reason for violating the order as he requested to see all expatriates.

The issue as expressed by the governor was that there is a need to verify the medical status of the expatriates whose identities could not be traced.
